

Camilo Torres Tenorio (Popayán, New Kingdom of Granada, on November 22, 1766 - Santafé of Bogota, on October 5, 1816), was an attorney, intellectually, politically, illustrious and martyr who headed the movement of the first independence of the New Granada, today Colombia. For his(her,your) formidable oratorical capacity, it(he,she) went on to the history as The Verb of the Revolution.
It was constituted as leader of the federalists, who were characterized for recognizing initially the regency of Fernando VII; by his(her,your) solidarity of class they were considered to be not peninsular Spanish; and for creating the Federation of the Close(United) Provinces, not knowing with it finally the Spanish monarch.
